Late in 2014 Sam Elton-Walters approached me about doing a podcast together. Sam & I had met at the Social Media Club Hamilton, which I had been organising. At dinners and social functions afterward these events we had both gotten into the habit of telling stories…
So it was that The Chris and Sam Podcast was born.
Randomness, Technology and life covers pretty much everything as does our podcast. Really it is a weekly chat about what we have been up to, what we have come across and what has tickled our fancy.
One of the best features of The Chris and Sam Podcast is that it is just 30 minutes long, which is ideal for any commute outside of Auckland. Having done this podcast every week for a year, it looks like it is here to stay.
Then I got the bright idea of documenting my journey into film making, and talked Sam into helping me with The NZ Filmmakers Podcast.
I host this, and Sam does all of the editing (of which there is quite a bit). This has not been as prolific in terms of episodes published, mainly due to time constraints and schedule clashes between Sam and I.
I still intend to make this a more regular monthly podcast featuring interviews with guests as well as documenting some of the lessons I have learned along the way.
Here is a video that explains the podcast, with a link to the podcast page below it.
In addition to publishing these podcasts I am active in networking with podcasters in New Zealand and around the world. I believe that networking creates more opportunities for all involved, and that Podcasters can and should help each other.
